Guest guest
I'm beginning to see comments about the next conference. As you all are making plans to attend the 2003 Conference I would like to encourage you to think about having other family members attend. I attended in Boston, Texas, and helped with the conference in Indianapolis. It truly is an incredidable experience for Grandparents. We have had sessions where we can let our hair down and tell our own experiences with CHARGE in our grandchildren. We also include extended families (Aunts & Uncles). Just as the parents need to know that there are others out there like them, grandparents are in the same situation. There is another advantage of extended family attending, they can help with the caring of the family during the conference. This can be a time that they can give the parents a few hours off from the care of the CHARGER so they can talk with other parents. (There is child care and programs for all ages during the sessions.) I'd also like to mention that every one (including the presenter) is very tolerant of the parent who must bring their child to the sessions and it is nothing to hear a suction pump going. Don't feel that you have to stay home or leave your children at home because you don't feel comfortable leaving your child with the child care givers. (Now you all know where Marilyn got her long letter genes.) Hope to see many in Cleveland.
