I would get a 2nd opinion on all of this.The reason I say this is because I do

not like the " urgency " tone this all has.

I do not see why a hysterectomy would need to be decided on at this point.Can

they not go in and then determine what is going on?If there is no evidence of

malignancy why then could not a myomectomy be performed?Has myomectomy been

discussed? If so why do they seem to want a hysterectomy?

I would avail myself of a 2nd opinion to see if there is this degree of urgency

in your case.

Suzanne,

I am a little confused. You say you have a mass in your abdomen. Do

you mean in your uterus? I too am concerned with the supposed urgency

that your doctor feels. If this mass is in your uterus it probably is

a fibroid and you shouldn't feel rushed into anything.

I also live in New York City. I can suggest other doctors. I think

you need a second opinion. You can e-mail me privately.
