Guest guest
Morning Lori...I have a brother that lives in Ferndale...anywhere near there? My first NF surgery was at Ann Arbor. Wonderful hospital. You said you had small tumors right? I had hearing lose in about 1982 and they diagnosed it as a " window " broken. Had they done an cat scan or Mri they would have seen my small tumor and I would not have lost my hearing in 1987. Just food for thought for you. And small tumors are usually easier to get rid of than bigger ones in my opinion although it depends on the location. Carol PsySmoke64@... wrote: > Carol, Thank you for the welcome! I live in Canton. My tumors are supposedly the size of a tomato seed. The last MRI I had was a few years ago. I am overdue for one. At that time they were still the same tomato seeds. But, as my Mom pointed out the other day, if my hearing is so bad they have probably grown So I will be at UofM having test after test, and then off to the Doctor my Mom sees up here for her NF2. Then the big decision as to what will be next.Even though to friends and family I appear to be very casual about the NF2, to be honest this frightens me to death! I am a big chicken and trying to think of what is ahead is so scary. My husband is so afraid for me and what will happen, at times it is hard enough to cope with his fears! I am so glad I found this group. I am trying to learn things and my options. It is great to be able to have contact with people that can really understand how I am feeling. Thanks for your support. Guest guest
Carol, I hear you on the mystery of what is not right with your body. It is doubly hard because the medical world is rather uninformed. Yesterday the oncologist we saw kept saying Anne needed a Cat Scan of a certain area. I had to keep reminding him that only an MRI tells her story. I, not being medical, don't like to correct these people but when it is my family's well being at stake, I get very direct and " cut to the chase " as we say. Hope today is good for you.
