i have to have a stereotactic biopsy on BOTH breasts this coming tues. the one where you lie down

This is the type biopsy I had and had no discomfort whatsoever during the procedure or after- but I was scared to death thinking it would!!! This computer guided biopsy is SO accurate to make sure the doctors are where they need to be to collect tissue samples...this is the accuracy we all want! I hope and pray your tests come back benign and the calcification does not indicate a cancer. Please let us know how the procedure goes for you and then your test results,

We are all here for you,

i am sort of new here posted a couple times i think. i am a 2 yr

survivor of BC. stage 2(almost 3). 3 tumors 1 benign, 2--4cm and 5cm

cancerous. i had 4 of 15 nodes removed. a/c chemo, taxotere, 33 rads

and now tamoxifen. i had my mammo last week (had one in october too)

and now i have calcifications in both breasts that werent there

before. i have to have a stereotactic biopsy on BOTH breasts this

coming tues. the one where you lie down and put your breasts in the

holes. they then inject SEVEN small needles to deaden each breast, so

in my case 14, then a larger needle goes in, gets the calcification

and off to pathology they go. i should know something by thursday.

the radiologist said one he was 99 percent sure it was benign but one

of them in my left breast (my bc was in the right) looked very very

suspicious, hence the biopsy. just posted here for you to wish me

luck.

okay i had the test yesterday and it wasnt bad at all. it was only

one needle to deaden the area in each breast. they make a small

incision and put the long needle in. they withdraw the

calcifications, xray them to make sure thats what they are (i got to

see them) and then off to pathology they go. also they put a sort of

staple in you where they did the biopsy so the next mammogram you

have they'll know what it is. that didnt hurt either. and with me

having 15 nodes removed i saw on the mammo pics that i had those

staples there. no one ever told me. so today and tomorrow just

waiting for the results. my husbands work keeps calling so everytime

that phone rings it drives me insane! crossing my fingers for

benign!
