Very dramatic. I occasionally have pain in my left hip, but only after I've

been sitting for some time. And it doesn't happen every time. . . . . .

Probably arthritic changes.

Carol,

I recently experienced severe hip pain also. It stopped after my period.

Turns out that my fibroid is the size of a twelve week fetus. My dr. is

recommending a moymectomy. I am concerned with the recovery time. I am

considering having an embolization done instead. I am 54 and still have not

started Menopause. I keep thinking I should wait but I would not want to go

through the pain I experienced again.

since the surgery. I keep waiting for it to return, but so far so good!

Gosh, a MAJOR lightbulb has gone on! I have had unexplained pain in my

upper leg (not quite my hip, more like the leg socket) for the past couple

of months. I've skeptically attributed it to a mystery strain or minor

injury from my exercise regimen - even though I don't recall any injuries --

and never associated it with my fibroids! Two of my long-static fibroids

suddenly grew wildly recently, and my uterus was measured at the size of a

20 week pregnancy about a month ago. That sure makes a lot more sense to

explain my sudden leg pain, in concert with my other symptoms.

Thank you, thank you for sharing this information -- it will help me make a

decision about what to do next, and when.

I also have been having hip pain the only occurs when

I sleep on my back. I think that my fibroids are

pressing down on a nerve when I'm in that position.

I initially attributed this to something else but now

I'm convinced that it's fibroids.
