Guest guest
> It DOES lower sodium so sea salt increase may help. This is nuts. I take a diuretic to get rid of the edema which it does, then I have to take back in all the Na to get rid of the headache. Maybe the stuff is too strong. Guess I should just take it every other day. Guest guest
Val sorry about the 100 emails on this, but you say not to guess at the electolytes...and that after yrs of swelling, you finally found that potassium helped. Does this mean that all your previous potassium tests were goog, and then only the rbc potassium showed low. Im confused. not sure if I need the rbd potassium..cha-ching$ or if the normal panel will do. Subject: Re: Re: Triamterene/hctzTo: RT3_T3 Date: Sunday, May 10, 2009, 3:13 PM Sodium doe s NOT lower potassium. Nor does potassium lower sodium. They balance each other,. If sodium is low yiour body will lose more pottasium to try to keep them in balance, same way if potassium is low you will lose sodium to try to keep the balance.-- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/------------------------------------

So just take extra minerals with the diruetic until I have no more breathlessness, raised BP? That is why the doctor gave it to me. Guest guest
oh Val! I just looked on acu-cell website..and it does say that the rbc is a much better indicator of true status of potassium. Am going to be wasting my time with the simple test? I did show low potassium and sodium last test(6 months ago) so not sure how that will help.
