Guest guest
HI From , Dee's daughter .. I've been listening to these conversations regarding chemical. Since I acquired CFS in '99, I became chemically sensitive to any plastic, car exhaust, perfumes, etc. A very toxic one for me is a newspaper or even worse, a new Yellow Pages book. My lungs become stressed and very short of breath. For a couple years I had to wear a mask when going into any clothing store or Wal Mart, etc. Rubber from new tires is actually my worst offender - in case this helps anyone. I've stopped my mom who has IPF from using her hair spray now . Right before she was diagnosed one year ago, she and my dad were parade Marshals (how cute) in their church event - she wore her old fur coat that had been covered and enclosed with moth balls for 25 YEARS - and sat in a closed car breathing it so close to her face for almost 45 min. Within 6 years her entire body broke out in a red rash with welts, etc. And lasted about a week - Doctors said they could not understand how moth balls could cause this severe reaction - two weeks later she was extremely SOB - I believe this exposure added or caused the IPF. ( my opinion) - not sure the scarring can occur so quickly, but it was very coincidental. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it :- ) BTW, Dee is doing a little better now since upping her prednisone - oxygen sats are better and she is now out of hospital from her heart failure. She is my BF and I'm keeping her around for as long as possible. for Dee - IPF Sept '99. Yuk. Some WalMarts have been worse than others for me. The one in Danville, IL was really bad one day last year near the produce department, so I figured there must have been mold in those large containers where they had the melons or else the potato bins. Today we had to keep the windows in the car closed on the North Shore because the Keave odor (a tree or bush they use similar to mesquite for grilling) made it hard for me to breathe. That was also one reason I moved away from HI in 95.Love and Aloha, judy IPF 11/06> >> > > > Kerry,> > > > I remember in the fall of 2002 when first started college, I> > started coughing.
