Guest guest
Hello Group! Happy New Year! I wanted to update you on my Myo that I had on 12/7. I was in the hospital for 2 days. I had 3 large fibroids removed (2 grapefruit size). People think that is soo hard to believe since I only weight 103lbs. They were on the outside of the uterus but when the doctor went inside he had to cut the on the inside of the uterus. He said that he wouldn't know this until time for the surgery. Since that happened he said that I would have to have a C section in the event I want to have kids. Prior to having the surgery I was taking Lupron which worked to shrink the fibroids. I had hardly any blood loss. The surgery took about 1 1/2 hours. I was on a morphine pump the first day. The cather came out on the second day and I was able to get up and walk around (slowly). The pain was very uncomfortable when I had gas! Boy did that hurt. It did ease up. I went in on Friday and was out on Sunday. I was prescribed Darvecet for pain. I only took one since I had the surgery. I was driving a week later. The surgery went well with one exception. When the doctor removed the 3 fibroids, he said that there were approximately 100 tiny ones left the size of his fingertip. He said that he has never seen anything like this. He also stated that he wanted to do a hysterectomy when he first saw this (however, we didn't discuss this so he was not authorized to do so). Now the problem is the 100 plus fibroids that are left inside. Has anyone ever heard of this before? They aren't giving me any pain and neither did the other ones prior to my operation. We are going to wait until I heal from this surgery before making any decisions. He doesn't know if they will effect my ability to have children. I am 35 and don't have any yet. I have already had the stitches taken out and the incision is barely there. I go back in 2 more weeks for the next follow up before returning to work. I just wanted to update the group. It wasn't as bad as I thought.
