Cat re anemia

Cat, I have really been helped by taking Yellow Dock tincture (can't remember

if I mentioned it) and was just talking to a friend of mine who has also had

good luck with it in increasing iron levels and decreasing anemia. I have had

no reactions from it at all. There are also iron supplements through health

food stores that are not as constipating as the supplements through doctors.

Sorry name of the iron types are escaping me today (I have a cold and only

partially functioning). I take a chelated iron and have had no problem with

constipation.

Anemia can sneak up on you, and it has on me a couple of times. I think I

finally have the symptoms in my mind to watch out for and actually need to stay

on iron supplements most of the time.

Let us know what you lab results say when you do that. Take care. Robyn

Re: What you *may* have to look forward to...

I just wanted to say thanks to Debi and Robyn for

pointing out their early symptoms of anemia. As Debi

said, I thought it was simply from keeping up with my

one boy (how you manage five, I have no idea!),

working fultime, and being in less-than-ideal shape.

I haven't been anemic before, even while pregnant -

but I just realized that after assuming I wasn't, I

haven't actually been tested in a while. I have a

visit to my doc (including ultrasound) scheduled in a

few weeks and will request a test then. In the

meantime, maybe I'll try taking some kelp, since iron

supplements tend to make me hopelessly

constipated...can't hurt!

Thanks again, and a rich, blessed New Year to all!
