Guest guest
(1) I worked with a woman that went in for a myomectomy. They removed 3 huge fibroids. She went home. A week later her doctor called her and told her that she had to be scheduled for a hysterectomy because she had cancer. This girl age 39 had 2 major surgeries back to back. Then after the second surgery they called her to tell her that something suspicious appeared on her breast mamo. (2) I made the mistake of going to an oncologist/obgyn who for ascus paps and had an elevated CA 125 that stressed me out. I asked this doctor to perform a myomectomy and he said the only thing that he would do would be a hysterectomy. Then he proceeded to tell me that I probably don't have cancer, but sometimes you find things. Then he told me to make sure that I did not let anyone do surgery on me. That confused me more. All of this stuff is hitting the surface and I'm freaking out. Sorry for the scary stuff, but I'm worried....
Guest guest
, The story about your friend is very sad but it is a very rare circumstance. Also, it is clear that the oncologist you went to gave terrible advice. I think you should forget him completely. Laughter is the best medicine. You should rent movies that make you laugh and watch one every night before your surgery. It is difficult to be stressed out when you laugh. Soothing music helps too. Keep in touch. I can't wait to hear the story of your successful myo. Margaret > (1) I worked with a woman that went in for a myomectomy. They removed 3 huge fibroids. She went home. Guest guest
I was scared to death by 2 doctors that I had suspicion of cancer because of an elevated CA-125. I went to a third doctor and he said the numbers didnt alam him, and took the test again. The numbers went down. He said, I didnt have cancer. This was a year ago, and i am still here. CA-125 checks for ovarian cancer, and isn't conclusive at. The fibroids cause this test to be high. Annie, NY
