Guest guest
Thank you so much for your kind words. I don't know why but I'm more afraid of a myo then a hyst. I think I won't know what I'm going to do till I show up at the hospital on Jan 10th. My doctor will do what ever I decide. I'll post later Thanks To: <uterinefibroids > Sent: Tuesday, January 01, 2002 3:15 PM Subject: Re: hyster?? myo?? > ... > > I was on Lupron for 3 months prior to the surgery. Guest guest
Hi Thanks so much I just took a look at those posts. One of the things I had not mention that Marilyn brought up is that in June of 2000 ( my regular checkup) no mention of fibroids. March of 2001 this fibroid was discovered. The fact that it is so large (19cm) in such a short time was my other concern about regrowth likely. Kind Regards Re: hyster?? myo?? > Hi , > > There is a very good post on hysterectomy vs. myo in the > archives. message#10064. Guest guest
Thank you so for your kind words. Our situation is similar although I have been very symptomatic. I am 39 so waiting out menopause is not an option. I probably won't know what I will do until the day they wheel me in because on any given day I'm for either one. Because of how fast and large this fibroid grew and my age I feel regrowth is very real. Facing the thought of a 2nd surgery makes me more fearful the having a hyst. I'll post once I know. Thank you for your support Kind Regards hyster?? myo?? > > > > Hi > > I've learned a lot from many of the post on this site. My story is: I have 1 very large fibroid (19cm) don't know if there might be more The large one is the only one visible. I was anemic (5.2 hemog.) I'm now 13.8. I have been on Lupron for 4 months in order to shrink the fibroid and stop my periods. The fibroid has not shrunk my periods have stopped. While there are many valid opinions for not taking Lupron I believe it was necessary for me. I have schedule surgery for Jan 10th. Here's the problem: On any given day I have changed my mind from having a myo or having a hyster. I think the main reason is I'm more afraid of regrowth and another surgery then I am of not having a uterus. even if regowth doesn't result in a 2nd operation I like the idea less of having fibroids inside then not having a uterus. > > > > I know from many posts that the overwhelming opinion is to avoid a hyster.
