For those going through brain or liver mets

Hi to all,

I have just recently completed cyberknife surgery for two tumors in

my skull ( one was about 2.5 cm and on top of my brain, the other

smaller and near the cerebral cortex) and they are all gone! As far

as the liver mets go, this is a second reoccurance and I have been on

gemzar/platinum for 4 rounds and am scheduled to go to microwave

ablation surgery in the next couple weeks to blast out the remains of

the tumour. My advise to follow!!!! do not give up hope and get thy

self to a breast cancer specialist. It will make all the difference

in the world. I still hear of general oncologist using CMF and other

out-dated treatments on b/c patients. My first oncologist was going

to use that when i first had mets to the liver. I wouldn't be here

now if I settled for that. Please find a specialist and get at least

a second opinion and a treatment plan from them that your general onc

can follow. This really is the difference between life and death.

If your faith dictates prayer - pray that you find the right doctor

to help you through this & *^%!

PS: My friend with a re-occourance to the breast and bone mets saw

my doc, got a treatment plan and gave it to her onc and she is doing

great! Please don't worry about hurting your doctors feelings - it

is your life - take control! Get a specialist in breast cancer!!!!

==>What kind of chemo did they give you? I've read that Adria + Cytoxin is

just as good as CMF. Why do you say CMF is outdated?
