Jill,

Your description of yourself sounds quite a bit like me. I am in Minnesota.

Where in the north are you? I am ready to do something about these fibroids

- most likely UFE. I am searching for the right medical people to help. I

will be scheduling my 1st consultation with an IR this week. My gyno is not

practicing right now and I don't think I can wait til spring. Another Dr at

the clinic sounds supportive but has had no direct experience with the

procedure. I feel pretty isolated.

Any chance you are in the Minneapolis area?

Hi Barbara. I live in the Toronto area in Ontario, Canada. I think there's

a list of IRs on the fibroid registry where you might access a specialist in

your general area. I'm sure the American folks on the list could help you

identify someone who could help you.

Good luck!

Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE)

http://www.scvir.org/fibroid/

I live in Michigan, I was just at this web site yesterday. It is a page off

the Society of Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology (SCVIR)'s web page.

If you click on " doctor finder " and fill in the form it will list all the

Dr.s that perform UFE in an area.

All you have to do is enter the state and make sure you check the area where

it says " ONLY list physicians who state that they perform UFE (Uterine

Fibroid Embolization) " . Don't worry about the other fields. Once the names

pop up you can usually click on them and it takes you to a short bio. Then

some of them also have web pages of their own.

Hope this helps,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. I am so exhausted from

fighting the anemia, the excessive bleeding, the " accidents " , which are

occuring more frequently. In recent weeks, I've noticed more incidents of

diarhea, perhaps it is nerves.

'Happy Holidays to you and your family.
