Guest guest
Hi , I made the switch from Lacrilube to Puralube, as well, and my eye, for whatever reason, has been doing much better on the Puralube. Since I started using the new ointment three months ago, I haven't had any problems with it that would lead me to believe that it's causing eye irritation or infection. I agree, the savings are fantastic and I feel that Puralube is better for my eye, so I don't think I'll be going back to the ol' blue box anytime soon. Hope this helps-- Greg Dear fellow/a Eye Lubies:The past couple days, my eye (inside corner) has gotten increasingly irritated. There's pain to the touch now and when I look in the mirror I see it's swollen in that area of the eyelid. At first, I thought it was just dry 'cause of the air outside, so I've been using tons of RefreshPlus (preservative-free) drops during the day. It's gotten worse today, though, and I am trying to figure out what it can be. I've been using the Puralube for a few months now and it's been great so far, but I thought I'd check to make sure everyone else who is using it hasn't had any problems with it. I love the savings (and the fact you get more in each tube) compared to the Lacrilube, but I definitely wouldn't mind paying the extra money if it meant protecting my eye! Thanks for any comments you have to offer,
Guest guest
Yes, i agree. I get eyelashes turned in pretty frequntly and that causes pain and irratation. It is easier for an ophthamologist to get them then to hunt for them yourself. Also, if there is any infection, he can treat it. Guest guest
I'm definitely getting into the doc. I will probably go to whichever I can get in first, but there is a choice between my local opthalmologist (who I haven't actually seen for quite a few years...) and the neuro-opthalmologist who I see periodically to do my check-ups/stuff associated with NF2. The local one is in town, but the other is in Indy (3 hours away). If it's just an infection or eyelash, the local one is probably more than fine, but is there any feeling this may be something deeper manifesting outward signs (for instance, I have tumors on my optic region and if this is related to those, the n-o would probably be more adept at catching what was going on)? Thanks! Lori Phibbs wrote: > Yes, i agree. I get eyelashes turned in pretty frequntly and that causes > pain and irratation. Guest guest
You know, I am not a Dr BUT, as long as you can rotate your eye well in the socket, as long as it dilates and undilates with the other in response to light, as ALSO if the pain is not deep (my eye tumor felt like my eyeball was being pushed out of my skull when it grew) then I think the local guy is a fine bet. If it doesn't get better, i would have a MRI. Luck to you!!! Guest guest
Lori, You wrote about eye problems and mentioned the eyes dilating differently as a symptom. Yikes, this has been happening with Anne for about 3 or 4 years. But nothing has shown in her brain MRIs. Is this a symptom that you or any others have had? Please write S.A.P. Thanks Vicki
