I have one fibroid that is greater than 9 cm. (I forget the other measurements). I look like I'm 5 months pregnant. I am still menstruating. According to what I've read, the record for stopping mentruation is 59 years of age. Also, it is common for fibroids to have a growth spurt just before menopause. I've been with this new doctor for about three weeks. This is the first one who actually has a treatment plan. He uses vitamin and mineral supplements (B-100s, mineral supplement, Oscal and Calcium Lactate, Vit. A, C and E), Chinese herbs( Women's Chamber) and castor oil packs with heat three nights a week. At first, he said that this was only to get the bleeding regulated. But, when he saw how forward my fibroid is, he said that it might be more susceptible to some of the treatments he uses. (I hope so!) He also mentioned using acupuncture and moxabustion. I, too, would like to hear from someone who has had her fibroid disappear or noticeably shrink with menopause. Guest guest
I've been thinking about my last ultrasound and just realized{duh} that I don't really understand how 1 of my fibroids appears to be degenerating and 1 is growing. They are right next to each other and I don't know what kind-just that they are located fundally. Has anyone else experienced having 2 different types? Also while I'm here. Anyone actually have their fibroids disappear or reduce at menopause. the only info I've been getting lately is from posts from women in their fifties who are still having difficulties.
