Crew-

My wife still has much swelling from surgery in June. CAT scan revealed it

is not spinal fluid. Dr's say it will go down in time. How long have some

waited? Also, she is having much hair loss the last few weeks. Anyone

experience this after surgery?

Hi Mike,

Sorry to hear of your wife's rehab difficulties. The outcome of the

surgeries is enough, but these side effects really get one down. I know

Anne's did after the abdominal surgery which we are still dealing with.

Actually, I believe she had edema for about 1 month. They used some protein

in the IV to help her but I really think it was a kidney thing. I just don't

know what to say for your wife other than the usual cranberry juice, lots of

water, exercise of whatever kind she can do. Hair loss was a problem for Anne

after most surgeries except the last. I think it has to do with the meds

they get in surgery or possibly anything given after surgery. I will keep the

both of you in my prayers. Be sure to keep us posted. Vicki
