Guest guest
Lia, In reading, am getting the general idea that hypertension is most to blame for abruptions, as is vasoconstriction (e.g. that of someone using cocaine). Nitro causes hypotension and vasodilation; although who is to say that this, or perhaps a paradoxical reaction to taking it, might not also aggravate a placental condition? -- Beth SU 2 metroplasties
Guest guest
Beth, Thanks so much for your insight, as well as the information re nitro and abruptions. For some reason, I never thought to research the two separately. I will now look into systemic effects of nitro, as well as potential causes of abruptions separately and see if there is any overlap. Ultimately, I may have to accept that I will never know for sure. It just drives me crazy when people keep telling me how lucky I was that the abruption happened in the hospital...can you imagine if you were driving down the highway on your own...etc., etc., when my gut feel is that it wouldn't have happened at all if I hadn't been in the hospital. Anyway, sorry to ramble, thanks for your help, it's given me a new angle to search. Take care, I hope all is well with you and noelbaby. We're all rooting for you both. Just curious - you've referred to him as " him " a few times - is that just generic or do you know/plan to know the sex? Sorry if I am being too nosy. Thanks again, Lia UD
Guest guest
Lia, I don't blame you one bit for wanting to know why this happened, for your own mental health! > Take care, I hope all is well with you and > noelbaby. I don't yet know the sex of this baby, but have a hunch that it is male. So does almost everyone else. It'd be cool if everyone were wrong :-) I just say " him " because that's the grammatical convention. " Him/her " is too cumbersome for lazy me.
