She's a tough one but only 3 years old, that's probably why she has to be sedated, so she won't wiggle too much! If you have a lot of problems with MRIs, they can give you a pill if you request it. Have you tried that, June? I'm one of the lucky ones with no problems doing an MRI, but I still ask for the pill, just.. cuz. It's nice and relaxing. Hey! We have another new member! What is your son's name? ~~~ carla, my son now 16 yrs old, was diag. in 1994 by a hearing test done at school. we were notified that he had a high tone hearing loss in his rt ear. i worked for a dr at that time and he sent him to get an mri. it showed that he had bilateral acoustic tumors, and other brain tumors. we were therefore told he had nf2. there is no family history and the genetic test came back that it was due to a spontoneous mutation. since that time he has had several surgeries, meningitis due to surgery removal of a frontal tumor. recently he has profound hearing loss in his rt ear and the tumor in the lt ear is growing more. he still has hearing in that ear, but we dont know how long it might be before it effects it. he really has a long medical history since this started, but my concern is what to do. i feel so lost and dont know how to research this. im fairly new using a computer. im trying to cope with this the best way i can and i wondered if there is someone that has a child about this same age and what they may be doing to cope. thanks, joann thomson joann_thomson@...
