Wow I don't know but curious to what the answer is.

I've been feeling pretty good lately, but my husband had surgery this week and we're discussing about whether or not to get out of the military and so much is going on right now... that the pain is back. I know it's stress realted but goodness... I'm dying... so I think I'll have to go pop a pill or two and hope this pain will settle down

Flare Experts

If I need info on flares, I am confident you’ll know! As you know I had about two GREAT weeks that were so close to pain free. I know the glucosamine with ibuprophen is helping. But here I am, in a flare again. Each day for the past 3 days has gradually gotten worse for me when I wake, and this morning was terrible. I am trying not to let it effect my mentality, but it does get hard.

What I wanted to know is, did I begin to flare three days ago, or would the flare be the day that I reach maximum pain and it continues from there. Why do I need to know?? No reason! Just wondered what to call it when I start feeling the pain again and know I am sinking.

1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better.Have a nice day everyone.

,

"The BOOK" (FMS & MFP - Survival Guide) says that we can suffer from "delayed reactions" -- So i wonder if your flares may be caused by something you may have done even a WEEK ago?

MY question to the group on this is: It seems to me that i am almost constantly flaring - Well... I come over here and say; "I'm flaring so bad" ...but the truth is that i'm just about ALWAYS feeling that bad, darnit.... maybe i am just in my "normal" state of pain... and then once in a while (which is awfully rare it seems), I may have a better day or hour? There are many times when i am SOOO bad that i just can't get out of bed without doubling/tripling up on my pain meds and then i still am quite disfunctional. Are THOSE the flares?

--- but... some days are just much more god-awful than others, but not quite as disabling as those worst days... SO HOW DO YOU GAUGE WHEN YOU ARE TRULY having a flare, or when you're just having a "worse" day... or when you're just at the "normal" state of agony? LOL

That sounded so stupid....

never mind....

moving on to the next post......

I definitely agree about the delayed reaction. I'm having an awful flare today because I had surgery on my stomach on March 10th and it's a miserable rainy day here. My legs are killing me... that seems to be my big flare point for me lately... my legs and lower to mid back. I'm also so tired that I got up for about an hour earlier adn went back to bed.

I knew though that I would end up with some kind of flare from the surgery. I kept telling them I needed something for my back when i was in the hospital.... They told me they operated on my stomach not my back... no kidding. But my back hurt. Finally they gave me some valium and it helped relax the muscles. It was horrible.
