Guest guest
When I was pregnant with my daughter I suggested to my doctor that maybe I was allergic to pregnancy hormones. I couldn't take the Pill because it made me almost as nauseated as pregnancy, and when I finally hit menopause I'm not going to be able to take any of the hormones. Estrogen makes me climb the walls, and Progesterone nauseates me. I even tried the synthetic (can't remember the name of it, but it's made from peanut oil) and I broke out into a bright red rash that landed me in the ER. It took several days to go away, and the doc told me I was allergic to peanuts. I'm really careful when eating Chinese & Thai food at restaurants, and ask if they use peanut oil because it breaks me out now (it didn't used to, until I tried that hormone). And yes, I had several miscarriages too. I had my tubes tied after the fifth one, because I'd start getting morning sickness and then after a few weeks having a miscarriage and one particularly nasty D & C afterwards. They didn't give me any pain medication before the surgery, and I was crying and begging for something for the pain and the nurse actually snarled at me that I was being a baby and it wasn't THAT bad. I wanted to slug her. cyn At 09:09 AM 3/16/2005 -0500, Ritter wrote: Here s my thought on the matter: autoimmunity. Just like Lupus, FMS, etc.. I feel the body is allergic to the baby and the pregnancy hormone hence the extreme symptoms while pregnant and if you re like me, miscarriages. cyn FSG Mod Fibromyalgia_Support_Group clmerritt@...
