I am having the exact same thing happen to me. I feel more tired and like im

going to pass out. I also feel nauseous and have a high heart rate but I have

low temps. Im really confused.

>

> I haven't posted for awhile. Been taking 50-75 mg T3 since about January, so

it's been about 12 weeks. My RT3, T3 ratio was 16 so I thought the T3 would

clear out the RT3. I've also been taking about 15-20mg HC along with it,

spacing it out around 8 am, noon, and 6. During this time, I've really not felt

much different. Pretty much the same energy-wise -- low. Able to get through

a full day of work, but don't feel like doing anything in the evening except sit

and go easy on the weekends. I thought maybe I'd see a little increase in

energy, not have that awful morning fog, and maybe stop the hair loss and maybe

even shed a pound or two, But haven't seen any of that. The morning fog is

terrible unless I take a caffeine pill and I know that isn't good for the

adrenals. My temp seems to have stayed around 97.7 or so -- the same as before

I started the T3. Raising the HC seems to cause too much weight gain, so I've

only gone to 20 mg max.

like I might even pass out today (but I was in a meeting and the room was a

little warm). Plus, I'm feeling sad and depressed and could easily cry. So,

something seems to have changed.

>

> I'm waiting on the results of a saliva test to see where my cortisol,

progesterone, estrogen and DHEA levels are. But I'm also due for a blood test,

but I need to wait till I feel a little better or I will definitely pass out --

I'm not good at blood tests anyway.

> What I'm wondering is, can these type symptoms occur if I have so completely

cleared out the T4 that now I am even more hypothyroid? But shouldn't the T3 be

helping that? I've never had any racing heart or anything while taking the T3.

No real increase in energy or anything. I'm wondering if I should start taking

Armour again (I have some here)in order to get some T4, T2, T1, etc. back.

75mcg is a pretty minimal dose of T3 right now I am taking 150mcg .. so

deoending on what brand you ar taking you may just need more. Or you may

need more HC but it sounds liek you are just low in T3 still

I'm kind of afraid to go higher and feel worse, or I won't be able to work.

Is it possible it has cleared out all my T4, T2, T1 and my body is missing that?

I wonder why I could take the T3 for three months and now all of a sudden feel

so much more hypo.

Val,

Have you ever come across any instances where when someone has cleared out the

RT3 (and all the T4 I'm guessing) that they then do better on both the T3 and T4

in Armour? I know some people say they do well on straight T3, but I'm just

wondering if some people need some T4 along with the T3.

Thanks.

Sorry to butt in here! I didn't know t1 and t2 are made from t3. Is it like t4

to t3 where you have to be able to convert it and if you are a poor converter

the t3 won't help with the t1 and t2? In theory if people are able to convert

t4 to t3 then would they also use that t3 to make t2 and t1. Would people on

synthetic t4 do this? Sorry for all of the questions. It just seems like

another argument to stay on t3 only if it is working for me. I wouldn't have

the storage form, but I'd be getting the other thyoid things I thought I needed

to go back to armour to get and I also wouldn't be risking making rt3 again.

Thanks,

It is differnt diodinase process that converts T3 to T2 and T1. I have

stil head of resistance that does nto respond to T3 but it si very rare.

I tried Armour maybe 6 months or more ago and felt more tired and was taking 20

mgs HC with it with weight gain and water retention. Had a blood test that we

figured my RT3 ratio was 16 so I've been doing the T3 for about 12 weeks. My

pulse is usually around 70 and daytime temps about 97.7 (maybe 97.2 when I get

up).

I guess I was hoping after 12 weeks to clear the RT3 and maybe be able to try

the Armour again since the darn T3 is $93 for a month supply and the Armour is

less.

How often do you have to keep raising the T3? How do you know if once you've

cleared the RT3 Armour isn't better for you. I'm just real confused right now.

Any idea what causes the body to need more T3 if you are already getting more

than you had before and you've cleared out a lot of the T4?

I'll give it a try. I need to leave for work now. Will check in later today.

Thank you.

How much Armour are you taking?

I did nto say you should not raise it until the T4 is gone, but you

should not raise it MUCH ABOVE 75mcg which si usually enough to lower T4

where ti is not causing RT3 thne you only have T3 that is affecting

temps and pulse and NO converision from T4. With your very low TSH your

T4 os proabbly as supressed as ti CAN be and you would be fine to raise

by poulse and temps.

So, I have wondered if my high Ft4 was causing MY Rt3. If I was able to lower

the Ft4 by not taking so much Armour (2 grains) which I know is not a lot but I

am very sensitive to meds, would I possibly be able to reduce the Rt3 or do I

still need to take just T3? My Ft4 was 1.57 with a range of .089 - 1.76. I know

Ferritin is not my problem. That is 125. I have been told by two doctors and a

ACTH that it is not my adrenals and judging by how bad I felt on HC no matter

what dose I took and I was up to 27mg and looked terrible with water retention

and felt terrible that adrenals are not my problem.

Ok Thanks. You DID say that you can increase T3 every 3-5 days once you have

cleared the T4 though, when you were responding to some one. So I am thinking

that we should not increase anymore than 3-5 days while still having T4 in our

system?

Gosh Val, I am sorry for all these questions. I just want to do the right thing

to get well and am so glad you are here. Don't want to misinterpret anything.

You can certainyl try it. I tried all kinds of doses of amroru and thne

Armoru with T3 and sill could not get rid of my RT3 but I did have many

other issues that could have contributed to it. Seems liek when ever FT4

is over 1.4 Rt3 starts building too high.
