Unless they posted the name and address of the person who wrote the check as being someone who didn't have check-writing privileges at that store, they can't blame your husband. I'd get a lawyer and sue them, as it couldn't possibly be his fault. I worked for Kroger once, and was fired. I didn't realize I had fibro at the time (this was about 20 years ago) and they had a sub-zero freezer I was required to go into several times a day, for long periods of time. The cold was hell on my symptoms, and I could barely move after coming out. They said that even though I was their best cake decorator, I moved too slowly. I was just coming up on the time to join the union, and I made the mistake of signing the union papers as soon as they talked to us.
