Guest guest
Eve, Has Tyler had a cardiac check up? Excessive sweating can be heart related I believe. Wouldn't hurt to have a check up if it's been awhile. ~ Weir Mom to Kennedy, 4yr old CHARGEr, 12, 11, and wife to Graeme New Brunswick, Canada Visit the Weir Website: http://personal.nbnet.nb.ca/gweir ICQ# 1426476 Excessive sweating Hi Everyone; Quick question. What causes excessive sweating? Are other CHARGE'rs sweaty? Poor Tyler sweats like a little piggy. He's miserable and uncomfortable. Other than having him live in the bath tub, any ideas? Thanks and have a great day, Eve (foster mom to Tyler, 2yrs, cHARGe) _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com Membership of this email support groups does not constitute membership in the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation. Guest guest
Is the sweating intermittent? Dylan goes into a cold sweat when he has a migraine or has a low heart rate spell. Also he has never handled being out in the heat well. (We live in Tucson) Over about 80 degrees and he is an inside boy. In the heat he quickly goes limp, pale and a clammy sweat. Guest guest
Hi Eve, I don't have an answer for you, but I am going to read all the replies with great curiosity. (twelve and a half years old) has extremely sweaty hands and feet. We always just assumed it was because he is Uncle Tom's nephew - you see my husband's brother also has profusely sweaty hands and feet. My brother-in-law has considered having hydro-shock therapy, having nerves severed but hasn't actually done anything yet. Give either of them a piece of paper to hold and it looks like its been out in the rain. Take a video game controller after they have used it and it is dripping with moisture. You can wring their socks out when they take off their shoes, and they almost always leave footprints on the cement as though they had come out of a pool. Fortunately, doesn't seem miserable about it. He did have a PDA when he was born, but had it ligated at five weeks. He has not shown any other signs of any cardiac problems. And like Kim's Dylan, does not tolerate the heat well. He also goes clammy and pale and listless. His health aides used to think he was having some kind of arrest and would call me in a panic - I would tell them to get him into the shade, provide him a breeze and lightly dampen his skin to accelerate the cooling. I don't know if my answer helped at all - Take good care- Yuka Persico Excessive sweating > Hi Everyone; > Quick question. What causes excessive sweating? Guest guest
Dear Eve, My daughter also gets very sweaty. All the neighborhood kids could be out running around in 80 degree weather, but Katelyn will sit in the shade and still sweat profusely. Katelyn had open heart at 5 months old and is now 5 years old, I asked her cardiologist if her sweating had anything to do with her heart now and he says no, but I watch her carefully. Before Katelyn had open heart she sweated profusely just sitting on my lap and that was how we found her heart problem, because sweating profusely " can " mean heart failure. Katelyn has her own airconditioner in her room, just for her! The Dr. told me no worries now, but being a mom, I still do! Roxanne > Hi Everyone; > Quick question. What causes excessive sweating?
