Hi everyone,

My pictures are up, I hope I did it right, mine have a picture in

the green box instead of a file folder.

I will give a brief history for those who may not know or remember

me. I have a BU which was discovered 17 wks into this PG, on a trip

to the ER for contractions. My Dr. told me I would probably have a

miscarriage. I went on bedrest and spent 14 weeks at home taking

Motrin, then oral terb and finally I was given the terb pump. I

also had a home monitor. At 30 weeks I was given steroid shots to

increase lung development. I was admitted to the hospital at 32 wks

with Toxemia, My Dr. said that I would not be leaving until I had a

baby, and they put me on mag sulfate to control contx and my blood

pressure. They were going to do an amnio at 35 weeks and if her

lungs were good they were going to induce me. I delivered her less

that a week later. I started having contx 3 min apart and the dr.

said if my cervix was not changing he did not care. The nurse

checked and I had not dialated. They gave me a sleeping pill to

help me sleep because I was in a lot of discomfort from the contx.

My water broke around midnight. I called my husband crying and

incoherent and I do not really remember a whole lot from there. My

DH said they considered bumping up the mag and putting me in the

trendlenberg position to try to hold off labor but the doctor

decided to let me have her. She was born at 33 weeks and came out

breathing on her own. They did have to put an oxygen hood over her

for a little while the first day. She was in the NICU for 5 days

and then went to the Intermediate care nursery for 3 days. I could

not believe that she was able to come home so quickly, they had told

us in the beginning 2-3 weeks. Our biggest delay was the jaundice,

because of the bili lights she was very tired and would not eat

much. When they stopped the phototherapy she started

eating/gaining and came home only 8 days after her birth weighing

4lbs. 7 oz. Her pediatrician said that they do not expect any long

term problems as a result of her prmaturity, just to expect some

slight developmental delays.

will be 7wks old this Sunday and at her last appt at 5 wks

she weighed 6lbs even.

We are all doing well despite my lack of sleep. I owe a great deal

of thanks to everyone on this board for the encouragment that I

received. During my time on bedrest your success stories kept me

going. I have learned so much from participating on this board and

I will try to stay active to support and encourage those who are not

there yet:-)

Thanks to everyone, I am sorry this was so long.
