Hello all,

A co-worker has asked for statistics regarding diabetes educators that provide

IN-PATIENT education. Could you provide the size of your institution and number

of educators. Thanks so much.

We are a 448 bed hospital and believe it or not, we have 1.0 diabetic educator

who is a CDE. In our Outpatient clinics, we have 1.0 CDE and another 1.0

CDE/RD.

Hello,

We are about 100 bed hospital and I'm not a CDE yet, still have a year til I can

apply for the test, however I provide In-patient diabetes education, we also

have a nurse educator, also not a CDE (she has been unable to pass the test) who

provides the medication side of diabetes education
