You are Invited to Apply:

The Soy Health Research Program, sponsored by the United Soybean Board

(USB), is once again providing incentive awards to investigators who

develop the best research concepts on soy and human health.

Researchers from across the country are invited to apply for awards for

grant proposals on soy and human health for eventual submission to NIH.

New this year: The top scoring applicant will receive a $25,000

incentive award, with additional awards to be made to other high scoring

applicants. Contact us for details:

This is the 12th year that the incentive awards have been offered. In

addition to welcoming proposals on soy protein, isoflavones, and other

constituents, funds have been earmarked for at least two proposals on

soybean oil and human health. If oil proposals of high merit are not

received, the earmarked funds will be used for other types of proposals.

A simplified application process has been developed that includes an

official Application Cover Form and a four page narrative of the

research proposed.

Applications to the program are due by March 15, 2012. Selected

applicants will then be required to submit full grant proposals to NIH

to meet the June or October NIH deadline.

Application Requirements at a Glance

Applicants to SHRP should meet the following requirements:

-Must be a qualified investigator at a legitimate institution based in

the USA.

-Proposed research must require an annual budget of at least $150,000 in

direct costs for at least three years. (See Application Instructions for

details.)

-Proposed research must be new and innovative and lead to greater

understanding of how soy can affect human health.

-Applications must include an official Application Cover Form and a four

page narrative, plus a bio sketch of PI and a Resources page.
