Life will never be normal the way you have known it.

I say that because I have been overweight most my life and obese for a good

portion and morbidly obese for some time.

For me loosing the weight was the easy part. The hard part is that stuip girl

in me who I have to battle with all the time over what she wants me to put into

my mouth and what I know shouldn't be. Sometimes she win, but most of the time

she doesn't.

I have to tell you that I have had zero problems that I haven't cause on my own.

The beginning was such a learning process. I know for a fact that I was eating

slow, but my stomach told me other wise. So that took some adjusting and

learning the signs. SO and so was loosing faster than me, (I don't think I lost

anything the first 3-4 weeks). So and so has lost more than me.

Wow look at Kat's picture in the red bathing suit, grrrrrrrrrr. Those are the

head stuff I'm talking about.

The down side..........at any point I could have and can die from the surgery.

For me after a life time of weight issues (been dieting since the 4th grade) I

was done. Stick a fork in me, I'm done. I give up, I need help at 347 I can't

do it any more. Well I can and I am. And it because of this surgery and these

wonderful people here on this site I can and will. Each and everyday.

I thank God for computers too!

such a hard decision to make. No one can tell you which way to go. I can tell

you. There are risks with surgery that your surgeon will go over with you. I am

way out. I struggle everyday to get my protein in and my water and vitamins. I

had a very hard time in the beginning because I wanted my normal meal. Boy did

I have buyers remorse for about 2 weeks,

I'll tell ya I look at food a whole different way now. I am very careful what I

choose. I don't want to put any junk food into my system. I know that I can eat

quite a few things, but I choose not to. That doesn't mean I don't try something

here and there. I have to get that craving out of the way sometimes, but it only

takes a small bite to satisfy me. Well Esther I hope I was of some help. Good

worked for me. If you need to talk or have any ?'s feel free to e-mail me your #

think about seeing a therapist, and perhaps talk to your PCP about an

anti-depressant--IF they believe you need it.

Depression after surgery is common, and the best way to fight it is

to deal with it head on. You were strong enough to take the steps

I fought it for about 9 months and then decided to research it and then I knew

it was for me. I prayed one night for knowing what I needed to do. The next

morning I knew it was it and I never looked back or hesitated because of me. At

one point I almost gave in to my mom who was not happy with my decision because

she was afraid I would die. But I quickly overcame that and I'm here today.

ALIVE!!! and feeling great.

on vacation again to Arizona to look for a house. I want to thank everyone for

supporting me through this tough time. I know I will make it through this. I am

feeling pretty good today. I will get in touch with a therapist. I'll tell ya a

2 year old will put you in therapy....LOL. On the physical side I am doing

pretty good and feeling great. I eat very well and I can just about tolerate any

food. I am very careful about sugar, and greasy foods. Now I have cheated a

little by tasting something sweet, but I usually will take just a bite. I don't

like carbs very much right now, I feel like they cheat me out of food. I get so

full with carbs. My menu is till pretty boring so I am looking for new

suggestions. I am hispanic so you can imagine the amout of beans I eat everyday.

So any mexican dish ideas?????? I need to expand my menu. Now keep in mind I am

not much of a veggie eater so it limits my choices. Well

everyone again for all the support. I keep you

posted.

I don't know you much beyond this cyber world, but the person I see

and the person's posts I have read show me that you are a beautiful

woman, inside and out, and that you can and will get through this

difficult time of your life. Please, if you've not considered it,

think about seeing a therapist, and perhaps talk to your PCP about an

anti-depressant--IF they believe you need it.

Depression after surgery is common, and the best way to fight it is

to deal with it head on. You were strong enough to take the steps

you needed to take to have surgery--I KNOW that you can do whatever

you need to do to fight this depression too!
