Guest guest
It's so strange that your thyroid levels look like someone who is on Armour already because the Free T3 is way up there, just over the range, with the Free T4 way too low. You'd think that it would be the other way around, huh, being as you're on the synthetic T4? You're not taking Cytomel, are you? I can't remember, offhand, but have you had a thyroid scan done, and, if so, were you found to have a nodule producing extra T3 into your system? This is the only way that I can see this backwards phenomenon. Someone else jump in here because, other than you having a nodule, possibly, I don't see the explanation for this. Your blood cell counts look good. New Labs > I just got my new labs in and was wondering if these where good. > Doc says they are good but I am still loosing my hair. > TSH 0.450 > t4 0.91 > T3 4.5 > WBC COUNT 6.3 > RBC COUNT 4.74 > HEMOGLOBIN 15.3 > HEMATROCRIT 43.6 > MCV 92.0 > MCH 32.2 > MCHC 35.0 > RDW 12.9 > PLATELETS 241 > MPV 0.91 > Thanks for any help you can give. Guest guest
I do have a goiter. I am not on anything other than the Synthroid. I haven't had a scan done since in my early 20's and I am now 37. Time for a new one I am guessing. Leave it to me to be backwards. Thank-You for answering my email. I am new at questioning my doc's and need all the help I can get. My endo is kinda cockey so I want to go in there armed. Going to get my hair cut today thanks to all of the hair loss. I finally got it almost to my butt and now it is so thin you can almost read through it. Guest guest
Ditto on the hair. Mine was down to my butt a few yrs ago, but is now cut up over my ears. Noone recognized me, but I now like it like that. Tell that endo that you want a thyroid scan to check for nodules because I just can't see that T3 being that high, with a T4 that low, being on a synthetic T4 only, and those are free values, I can see that. I know that the thyroid is enlarged because you said you have goiter, but do you have trouble swallowing, and are there any obvious hard spots on it? Avoid the Adam's Apple because it can confuse the issue. Has the endo felt of your thyroid at all? Guest guest
yes you need to switch to T3 only but you also need to find out why this happened on such a low dose. have you had adrenals tested and ferritin? -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/

Guest guest
Thanks Val. My ferritin is good. Saliva cortisol has been high in the past. Blood cortisol is 9.5 (3.1-22.4). I have a saliva kit here, I'll send it in Thursday. I go to see the Doc tomortow. What sort of prescription for Cytomel should I ask for? As for being on such a low amount of Armour, I was dx'd with Celiac last summer and as I went gluten-free, my numbers improved (and I felt a hell of a lot better!) My Doc is very openminded, just want to make sure we do this right. Thanks again, Deb > > yes you need to switch to T3 only but you also need to find out why this > happened on such a low dose. have you had adrenals tested and ferritin? > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ >

But the last time this happened (I think the blood cortisol was a 6) the saliva tests came back sky high all times. It will be interesting. Are you available to take a call tonite? I have so many questons. Thanks Deb > > Blood cortisol is 9.5 (3.1-22.4) > > If this was done 8-9am it si NOT good.
