Guest guest
Hello Friends, As I know in Mizoram a misplaced belief has robbed for HIV+ve people of dignity even in death. AIDS victim here are being buried in polythene bags, so that to prevent the virus from leavinig the corpse in search of a healthy body. this is really humiliating. HIV+ people too want to live and die with dignity , without any stigma and discrimination and hatred. Presently the data given by Mizoram AIDS state contaol Society is 1352 HIV+VE people. People living with HIV/AIDS continue to face stigma and discremination at every step. Sharing of needles has been cited as the primary reason for alarming rise in HIV/AIDS cases. Miziram AIDS control society said it is trying to sensitise people across the state to be comppasionate towards people with HIV/AIDS, stigma does not really help in fighting the disease. The need is to aware and sensitive the problem. Vishal singh e-mail: vishalbanty@...
