I'm pregnant and my back is really acting up. The only painkiller you are allowed to take when pregnant is Tylenol. Normally I never take any medicin exept the pred and imuran, but this is starting to bother me. Any ideas?? Thanks Heidi Gardarsson I've always heard you should take as little Tylenol as you possibly can. Tylenol has been the trigger for some cases of AIH. Thanks Heidi Gardarsson I just wrote you that Tylenol is to be avoided except for unbearable pain, because my doctor told me that. However, I just looked it up in a book ( Palmer's Hepatitis and Liver Disease) that says that small doses (less than 4 grams per day) of Tylenol are quite safe for the liver, unless combined with alcoholic beverages. You need to find something to relieve the cause of your back pain. Have you looked at the pregnancy "slings", which are elastic wraps to support the abdomen? (I saw someone wearing one over her clothes, and that did look rather odd. But if it helped her, that's what matters.) Guest guest
I was told by my hept not to take Tylenol, but every case is different. I'd call up your doctor and ask him/her if it is okay. -Clyde =========================================================+ Help save a life, become an organ and tissue donor today.| =========================================================+

Drop some of them or all? Add them back one at a time, and leave several days or even a week between additions, so you can determine which ones you still want to keep. Guest guest
Anyone ever experience chest pain when taking a deep breath? I keep waiting for it to pass thinking it's indigestion but it is not allowing me to sleep and I haven't been able to sleep since Wednesday 5 days ago without pain taking a deep breath, that is. So my breaths are quick and short to keep from upsetting the pain. I am preparing to go to the er dept. I hate to do this but I had a PE a couple of years ago so don't want to take too many chances and wait too many days. The job acted as if I did this to myself. I think the director is just tired of dealing with the RA symptoms. i am wondering if these are just more RA symptoms. Needless to say my days are numbered at this particular job with such a personailty as that. Let me hear from you regarding pain with deep breaths. Happy Holidays!! Guest guest
I just went through this exact same thing...I kept thinking it would pass as well but it never did. I went to my rhuemy and he sent me for chest xrays a ct scan and an echo and everything came back fine. The conclusion was that it was something called pluerisy. It's inflamation just like any other joint but its in the lining of your chest which causes the pain when taking deep breaths and for me it hurt the most when I laid down. My rhuemy gave me a week supply of prednisone and it went away. I would definitely go to your rhuemy though to make sure nothing else is going on. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year! Steph
Guest guest
Ebony, Be sure to let us know what they said. I think going to the ER is a smart thing to do.. Guest guest
Thanks Heidi. Still trying to set it all up. I switched meds to help with the pleurisy. It was continuing to get worse and took off from work for the rest of the week until this is taken care of which is less stressful not to worry about scheduling around work. Will keep you informed.
