I have no answer for you, but this is an interesting thought. I would

wonder about the quality of the " older " uterine lining rather than the egg

quality, simply because our eggs are there for a long time (since birth),

and only the one is becoming mature right then...in the course of a

lifetime, what difference does a few days make? But then, I'm not speaking

from any real knowledge here; just blabbing, really.

Do you have longer cycles, or do you just ovulate later within the 28 (or

so) days?

That makes sense.

I usually ovulate between day 18-21, and my luteal phases is consistently

13-14 days long, so my cycles are around 35 days, always have been.

There is probably no difference about when ovulation happens, just that it

DOES happen, but I like to worry about these things...

:)

Thanks for your thoughts !

Thanks for the input, . I have thought about the OPK idea. I do know I

ovulate because I have been charting for over 3 years, and have always had

long cycles. I have only ever had one annovulatory cycle since charting,

during a month I was training hard and ran a marathon. I had a long cycle

post-septoplasty, but still ov'd. I guess i am just concerned that a longer

than normal ovulation(for me) may not produce quality eggs for successful

preg. And also that the quality of mucous since my surgery hasn't been all

that great compared to usual. I may break down for an OPK though.

Thanks!
