Guest guest
Dear Forum, I would like to bring this to notice of how a PLHA suffred to get treatment and surgery & had been denied by Govt sectors in chennai. I would present the case study of the client. The client was refferd by INP+ chennai, stating that he is suffering from severe pain and he is in need of herinia surgery. Before that client went to Stedford hospital, there he went through all the test and formality and found that he is tested +ve so immedeitly he was again refferd to KMC for confirmatory test. Further they refferd to GH for surgery. So he went and registerd in the OP and again went for all the kind of procuders since he is +ve they again reffred to Tambram by giving the op medicine they informd that there is no surgery done here. So again client went to Tambram. There The INP+ people came across the client and reffred to us for further service. The clients Mr Govind(name changed)came to us with lot of physcial and emotional pain, with the help of our medical officer we orginised the surgery in a private hospital. After the surgery he was sent to our care and support unit in chennai for observation far one week till the suitchers were removed. Now the client is doing well and started living his life in a healty way. The surgery is done but for the medical and surgical kit has to be purchased so we tryed to contact some of the leading network group but none of them came forward to support bcoz our funding is limmited. So why cant the network /ngo's/govt/TNSACS take some needful action on these kind of issues. I am bringing this issue bcoz when the private hospitals are involving in such kind of services why cant the govt do this and what are the network people are doing on these kind of issues. Most of the clients are from lower income group how it is posible to go to private by them since it is being charged. Let us join together to figh against stigma and discrimination faced by PLHAS in govt sectors.
