Guest guest
Hi Amy, Several of the books I have read have shown studies that were done with fibro patients and people with no pain issues. They used an special MRI and when a small pain stimulus was applied, the patients with fibro had a much higher response in the part of the brain related to pain than the non fibro people. LOL, since that probably didnt make sense, yep, people with fibro have a much higher sensitivity to pain :-) Hugs, Deb in CO. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ " All we have to do is decide what to do with the time that is given us. " ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ > Jaana, I was the SAME way before. Now I find that even a scratch on my hand from playing with my kittens bothers me all day long. What I would like to know is, does FM give us more pain to deal with? Or does it just make us highly sensitive to any pain, big and small? -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
Hi Amy, No, from the way I understand it we are expeincing physical problems that cause pain, but the pain is amplified many times greater than what another person without fibro might feel. Let me see if I can find the study and I will email it to you, I'm not very good at explaning things sometimes :-( Hugs, Deb in CO. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ " All we have to do is decide what to do with the time that is given us. Guest guest
Hi, With Myofascial Pain Syndrome it puts our bodies/muscles in the "fight or flight" response all the time. At least those areas that are subjected to MPS. That's the way my doctor described it to me. Kathleen
