Guest guest
Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. After trying for two years, it must have been devastating. > Hi I recently was pregnant after almost 2 years of trying, but lost > the baby at 10 weeks. > would like more information about this condition I have looked a lot > on the web and found this group. Now that I see it is hard to tell > the difference between a Bu and an UU which one is more serious to > have and does surgery work for both if it has to go that far. I have always been under the impression that BU & SU (septate uterus) can be indistinguishable on ultrasound. SU is correctable with surgery & has good pregnancy outcomes after surgery. BU, on the other hand, does not require surgery & can have good outcomes with close prenatal monitoring. > When they did the ultrasound they found that I have a Bu. I am waiting for my appointment to have > an HSG done but would like more information about this condition I have looked a lot > on the web and found this group. There are a number of girls that have BU & a number that have SU. They should be able to give you more information & help you know what questions you need to ask at your upcoming appointment. Many of them have been in the same " unsure " diagnosis situation that you are. And, I believe many of them had Lap/Hys procedures to diagnose the difference between SU & BU. Good luck with your appointment. Tammy UD
Guest guest
Yes it has been tough. I am optimistic though and hope to be able to try again soon. Do you have any suggestions on pages that I can go to, to learn more about a BU? Thanks for your reply, Meredith Re: Bu need more info Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Do you have > any suggestions on pages that I can go to, to learn more about a BU? Have you looked at the article on the Mullerian Anomalies website that reviews the different diagnostic methods for MAs? I think this link should take you to it: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MullerianAnomalies/files/Medical%20articles/MA dxettreat.doc If not, it's under the Files section & is entitled MAdxettreat.doc. There are many girls here who have undergone these procedures. I have only had an US to diagnose my MA. They may be more helpful. You should be optimistic. Was this your first pregnancy? After you find out what type of anomaly you have, you should be able to TTC soon. A number of girls here have gotten pregnant before their final diagnosis was made -- and, I'm sure they can tell you that it adds a little more anxiety to the pregnancy ( & who needs that!!). Good luck!! Tammy UD

Guest guest
Thanks , It has been a lot of help to read about all of the successful stories. I just hope that I can try again soon. Thanks again, Meredith Re: Bu need more info I am very sorry to hear of your miscarriage. It is such a hard thing to experience. I also had a miscarriage last year. At that time I was diagnosed with a BU. I had a MRI to diagnose it. To give you some words of encouragement I am now 23w6d pregnant with twins. My doctors are optimistic about this pregnancy. Also from reading on this board it seems that women that have SU and surgery done have successful pregnancys. Best of Luck. Guest guest
Also do twins run in your family or is this something that is more common with a BU?
