Guest guest
Hi there, I went to pick up all my refilled medication yesterday. I was supposed to pick this all up on Friday am before I left for California, but since the trip got cancelled I just waited until it was conventient. Anyway I had talked with my doctor 2 weeks ago about possibly ordering some medication early because of the trip. I even called and left a message for the nurse to remind her. So I fully expected to have all my medication ready and waiting. Not! They didn't call in my pain meds! Thank goodness I didn't leave on my trip, so it really isn't a big deal but it just pissed me off. I don't know if I should call them on Monday or not. I mean I didn't leave and I certainly have enough to get me thru until it's supposed to be filled. It's just the principle of the thing. What do you think? Kathleen in N.C,. Guest guest
I had a prescription stolen (pain meds) and the doctor refused to give me more. He said that it was my responsibility to keep track of my meds at all times. So what happens if someone breaks into your house & ransacks the medicine cabinet? Or you carry a humongous purse filled with every one of your prescriptions and someone steals it from you at gunpoint? Or your house burns down along with all your meds? We CAN'T be completely in control of all of our meds at all times. cyn At 08:25 AM 3/13/2005 -0800, Deborah Younce wrote: They don't consider vacations, when a person from my community actually stole my meds the day after I filled them. Guest guest
Hi April, I think one reason is because the pharmacy refused to take responsibility. At the time it was the only pharmacy I used (Eckert's) and they knew both me and my husband. I called to get the refill, and they said it had already been called in earlier that morning, and someone picked it up and signed for it, not even using my name. They said it was some guy with long hair and a cross tattooed on his forehead. I asked them why they let him have it, as they said they knew it wasn't my husband, and they had no answer for me. They even charged it to my insurance! I was really angry, and I called the police, the FDA, the corporate headquarters of Eckert's, and my insurance company and told them not to pay the charge because it was stolen. When the head pharmacist found out, he was furious with me and told me they'd never fill a prescription for me again, and I said that was fine, because I didn't trust them to handle my prescriptions properly any more. Now when I get prescriptions filled (usually Walgreen's or CVS) they always check my id, or my husband's, when we pick them up. I told them what happened with Eckert's, and they are very good about asking for ID, plus they ask me a personal question someone else wouldn't know the answer to. cyn At 10:20 AM 3/17/2005 +0000, ablounts wrote: Hi Cyn--What's up with that doctor?
