Guest guest
I am just venting!! I have been waiting patiently for my FT3 results drawn at a local clinic on 3/14. I finally called this morning to see where they were, and they said that they only ran TSH and I wouldn't have to pay for the FT3 since I " didn't really need that " . They will mail me the test results if I want them. DUH...The stupidity is RAMPANT!!! Anyway, I am going in the am to have FT3, RT3 and Ferritin drawn. At least I know that Val or some other wise and wonderful member of this group will help me sort out the results when they are emailed to me. I LOVE online labs and pharmacies...and this group. Guest guest
I hope you told them they obviously don't know what they're talking about. These people need to be put in their place every opportunity we have. I am just venting!! I have been waiting patiently for my FT3 results drawn at a local clinic on 3/14. Guest guest
Shirley, Yes, you should give that lab a piece of your mind! Who the heck are they to make that decision?! If you had a valid scrip, or you requested those labs be run, they don't get to make those decisions!!! It's none of their business!! I would talk to the Manager or someone at the lab and make sure you get what you want! Are you going back to the same place? It's so maddening, we already feel bad and then have to deal with idiots like that!! AArrrgggghh! Then you wonder if it's worth getting your blood pressure up!? Hugs, > > > I am just venting!! Guest guest
I live in rural, small town, USA. The whole family went to the yearly " health fair " where various labs were offered at minimal charge. Seemed like a great time to see what my thyroid levels were doing and save some money. The Nurse Practitioner was the first person I went to when I moved here, so maybe she thought she knew what I needed better than I did? Who even knows? I will get it checked tomorrow in Kansas City and NO I shall not be going there again. It's the same clinic that allowed my dear mother-in-law to suffer for 3 weeks before deciding that she actually had a broken back. I will go back to my GP with my results and requests, but odds are, I will be self treating using online resources. > > > > > I am just venting!! Guest guest
Pat, Who do you see in KC? I am just going to get labs drawn for online ordered tests, but would consider the drive if there was actually a doc there that one could work with. I have all but given up on finding a doc that will listen and it's just not worth having to fight with my GP for adequate treatment. The NP at the clinic is a sweet lady, but not she really is in over her head and seems threatened when a patient is informed or intellegent. I won't even take my children there. I never get the exact tests I ask for, and I also have to go to KC for T3 perscription, as the nurse practitioner got pretty irritated at me when I brought her a 's Syndrome tape a few years ago. This forum is the best of all for treatment. > BW. > Pat
Guest guest
Thanks Pat, (and ). I have bookmarked the link and will look into it, but for now I am going to go back to what I did in Panama, treat myself until I find something that works. The MD's and NP's aren't helping and I just don't have the energy to argue or the money to waste only to hear that I need to go back on Synthroid. My GP only agreed to put me on Armour as a test. From his viewpoint, as it stands now I failed the test. I will start a new post about the labs I finally received from the health fair. Shirley > > Dr. Rudolph at McDonagh Clinic in Gladstone will perscribe T3, but goes by labs only - not symptoms. on this list has highly recommended her doctor at this website www.bethanyklug.com, and says she's open to the information we've learned on this forum. I found my doctor on the 's Syndrome website. It's a real hassle finding someone who understands, and even worse when you have to travel a distance. > > BW, > > Pat
