Kate; Okay- you have to explain the 'MA lopsided bulge'...do we carry noticiablly on one side or the other or is it something else? Sorry if this is a silly question, but I just had to ask! :-) BTW: thanks for the SA info! UD-ttc

Last fall we had a bunch of funny posts about this. A lot of us do get noticeably lopsided as the pregnancy progresses. When I say " noticeable " I mean only to us, standing stark naked in front of the mirror! I thought my bulge (it was her head) looked like a third breast. My DD (left side) moved into place around 30 weeks, and I swear she didn't significantly change position until delivery (no room to move other than kick the heck out of my cervix!) My dr. mistakenly assured me that my DD was NOT breech at around 33 weeks, so I kept patting what I thought was her little bum lodged under my left breast. Turns out I was banging her on the head for several weeks (which explains a lot now -- she's a typically nutty 3.5 year old!) Guest guest
Kate - How funny! Thanks for explaining...I had never really thought about being lopsided, but it does make sense. Right now I would love to have a 'third breast' :-) I'm so glad we can all find humor in this! Thanks, UD

Guest guest
> Okay- you have to explain the 'MA lopsided bulge'...do we carry > noticiablly on one side or the other or is it something else? Just had to share my lopsided situation. During my short stay in the hospital at 28 weeks, everyone just had to comment on my lopsided tummy. I'm carrying in the left horn, and sure enough he's all curled up under my my left rib. It does look funny. One thing I learned is that to get accurate contraction monitering, the moniter has to be placed on the left side. If they put it in the middle the contractions don't register. I've found that it's much more comfortable for me to lie on my right side, otherwise I feel like I'm squishing him and there's too much pressure on my left rib. The other unique thing is that I measure further along than I am because the uterus doesn't have as much stretch side-to-side so all the stretch is out front. I've consistently measured 3-4 weeks ahead. I also like to imagine that some of that is due to him being a big baby (after having a 2 lb baby, I'm hoping for a big boy.) BU, 30 weeks yesterday!!
