Lyssa, it depends on what you want to do with it, If you want to use it as a

family meal, say to go along with some gilled cheese sandwiches, then you

can probably freeze all of it and then thaw it all at once, but if its just u

and the 2 girls then you might want to break it into 2 porions and freeze

that way, as I'm sure the kids don't eat too much...... or if its just for

you then I would do individual servings. I wouldn't try to keep thawing it

and freezing it over and over...... Sue

Yeah, it is much better this way...and since you are the dieter, and some

others in your family may get sick and tired of the soup LOL, you can put it

so you have two servings, or whatever...takes up space but it is worth it.

I now have the turkey bod in my huge, wonderful Club Aluminum pot with lots

of fresh garlic, a large onion, and lots of fresh celery. Later I strain

it, and pick all the good turkey off and put it back. Then I dice up some

perfect-size celery, simmer while choosing other goodies to add to it. This

time will be some cabbage, and then right at the end, two blocks of frozen

spinach (thanks for that idea, SueBee)

Lyssa:

I made a nice turkey soup after Thanksgiving and froze it in 1 cup portions in

small baggies. It

takes up a lot less room in the freezer that way, and when you want some you

just take it out of

the freezer, pop it in a bowl (in the baggie) and defrost it.

Okay, I have a food saver, but I would think any zip-loc bag would do. I

put a layer of saran wrap in my soup bowl. I then put liquid soup on top,

freeze and then save either with zip-loc or food saver. Then, when I want

soup, I have a single serving, in the bowl that I want. I once did it in

just a bag, but the reheating became messy and I had to do it in a pan

instead of just a bowl.
