Guest guest
Hi Gang! Well, my hubby looked at me last night and asked if I minded if he joined me at WW meetings (again). I tried not to look too terrified and said in my most calm and loving voice " Of course I wouldn't mind, dear. I think it's great that you want to try it again (gulp!) " If you're wondering why this does not thrill me, we joined together in Feb of 2000. We did well the first week. Then he started complaining about being hungry all the time and started upping his portion size rationalizing it by saying it was less than he used to eat. He still lost OK. Seeing this, it started influencing my portion control. I however didn't lose as well. Then, he started adding in foods that are not conducive to weight loss (pizza, buffalo wings, Quarter Pounders, etc) in the quantities he wanted to consume. I tried to be strong, but he was always saying " It won't matter, just this once! " After months of ups and downs on the scale, we left WW and decided it wasn't the right program for us. I believe that we were not right for the program! I know I should not let anyone influence my food choices but it was too easy to have someone else to blame. OK.......Long story short (too late I know!) I was wondering if anyone had any tips to help my hubby be successful this time. He likes meat-n-potatoes and not too many veggies or fruits. I know I can stay on track as I am extremely motivated this time but, how do I encourage this wonderful man to keep an eye on portions as well as eating the right foods without sounding like a nag? Any good recipes for veggies that he might like? Thanks!
