Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I only have to deal with RA but I know quite a few on here also have Fibro. There is a columm in our local paper, Dr. Gott, that I read every day and think is wonderful. In today's article a woman wrote in saying that she suffered for several years with Fibro and that no pain med seemed to work, then she found a doctor who said that he had been an intern for two fibro specialists and that the antidepressant Elavil would be extremely helpful. He prescribed 25 milligrams and said that she wouldn't notice any changes at all in her case for about two months. He predicted that after that time, it would suddenly occur to her that her pain was gone. She says that this is exactly what happened. This was four years ago and the pain has not returned. She uses the generic amitriptyline. She has told several others about this treatment and their experiences have been the same as hers. I just thought this was worth printing. I hope it helps someone.
