While my chemo/ neuropathy was minimal...the Dr. opted to discontinue chemo

for a week and put me on 7 days of Valtrex..also Flaxseed Oil is recommended

for after chemo care.

How often are you recieving the chemo? One dose a week? I wore a pump-M-F

for 6 weeks..with one week off.

Hi All,

I read last week that my hospital uses massage of the hands and feet to help

with this problem. Makes perfect sense if you don't have cancer in your hands

or feet.

A simple remedy is being suggested here.

Take five litre hot water in a bucket. Add a handful of sea salt and 10

gram epsom salt to water. It will dissolve quickly.

Sit on a chair and put bucket on the ground in front of you, such that

feet can rest in the bucket comfortably.

If you can bend down and pour hot medicated water over the knees, you

will have very comfortable fomentation for nearly 10 minutes. You can

continue after heating the water again. The blood flowing through calf

muscle vessels absorbs the minerals in water, and tension in the nerves

dissolves. The tingling sensation, lack of sensation in nerves is

mainly due to wrong fats, inadequate fats, mineral deficiency. This

mineral deficiency may also be caused by excess use of laxatives or

diuretics.

Diabetics should see that temperature of water is not execessive.

Author has tried this on several patients with success.

I do not get alot of fats, I try to watch what I eat. Mostly organic chicken

and some wild fish. I do take cod liver oil every day. As far as minerals how

would I tell what I am lacking?? I am getting nuked today and I will have my

blood results. Can I find minerals low in those readings??

Thanks for your information, I will definetly try the epsom salt and sea salt

soaking.

Thanks again,

Alpha Lipoic Acid in doses from 400-800 mg has helped some.

It was first used in diabetics, then AIDS patients and Lyme disease

neuropathies.

It may take 3 weeks to work.

Let us know if you get some relief.

Hi Al,

My husband is suffering the neuropathy also from the chemo. Naturopath has him

taking vitamin b6 for 4 weeks 500 mg p/day. Seems to be helping. Also started

acupuncture treatment yesterday, too soon to tell any effects of that

treatment.

Thank you,

In keeping with the supplemnts that you suggest, what would be the best way to

go if you can not afford all of these at the same time. I am already on 200.00

dollars a month immune system builders. If I was to select some but not all

which would you suggest to use first?

Annie,

I am having similar issues with pain in my feet and lower legs, and

sometimes in just one hip for the past year. I have done or am doing

all the things you have done to no avail as of yet. The numbness can

sometimes be in my fingers, and my symptoms are always upon waking up in

the morning more than any other time, but the shooting pains in my feet

are mostly when I am laying down. I did have plantar Fasciitis but was

able to correct that with shoe inserts.

I have done all of the cleanse programs (and do colon and liver support

daily), I take 500 mgs magnesium daily, I take 300 mgs of Niacin daily

for circulation, 10 grams of Vitamin C daily, 2 TBSP of cod liver oil

daily, I drink about 4 oz of colloidal silver every day, I took 4

grapefruit seed capsules every day for a month, I soaked my feet nightly

in H202 at 3% for about a month, and yet the symptoms persist, but have

not gotten worse. During this past year, I also developed carpel tunnel

in my forearms, wrists, and hands, so I am trying a supplement called

Vitacel7 to see if that helps, and it has been less than a month using

it, but I have yet to notice any changes yet, and no worsening at this

point. While taking the Vitacel7, I am getting the rash that I get

every time I do a full liver cleanse, so I think the product is working,

just not taking care of the foot/leg issues.

I am not diabetic but I am getting concerned that this might be

something similar to MS. I have not been treated for the symptoms by a

doctor, but no doctor has found a cause either, so I gave up over 8

months ago. All of my research into symptoms points to diabetes, so I

am at a loss for a cause at this point. I'm looking for things that

work on the cellular level in hopes of finding something that helps.

I believe this is a circulation problem, but nothing is helping just yet

and I have to wonder if it might be something caused by heavy

metals/chemicals that I don't realize I am ingesting. Are the toxins

settling in my feet? Quite the mystery!

Diane.

hi annie

i experenced something similar to you in high school. a lot of people told me

cramps can be due to a salt definiciency. i try to stretch out throughout the

day and make sure you get adequate salt. if you feel a sudden cramp STAND UP

AND STRETCH, i know it's a real pain in the butt but it will help. and just

take a few sips of soda.

make sure you are hydrated. when i was in the er last night the dr. looked at

my tongue. yes my mouth felt dry but i didnt feel dehydrated. he said i was

severely dehyrdated and i could either down tons of water there or get an iv

fluids...i drank water :)

your bed can influence the way you sleep too. try elevating your head and

legs just a little. keep a pillow beneath your knees. it helps you breath

easier and might keep you from turning on your side! it helps me at least!

best,

I was also having trouble in my legs, though not to the extent you have, and

my herbalist prescribed Butcher¹s Broom, which I purchase as ³CircuCaps²

from the HFS. They have REALLY helped me. You may have already tried

this, but if not, maybe it¹s worth a go.

Butcher's Broom is also good for carpal tunnel syndrome. (yeh from using your

Chad,

Thank you so much for the information. Although the price of the

Rebuilder is way out of my budget, the information provided on the

website about neuropathy is very valuable in helping to understand the

condition. Whereas one hip seems to be involved, I now will look at an

inflammed sciatica as being the main cause.

Thanks again!

Try _www.cardiorenew.com_ (http://www.cardiorenew.com) . I had pain in my

hips after walking a short distance and my doctor did an xray and found calcium

deposits in my leg arteries. It showed up as white dots in my arteries. I am

trying this EDTA that will " melt " the deposits and I know it will take

awhile in my case. I was also having the numbness in my hands, lower legs, and

feet but that has disappeared (thank God) and I am hoping the rest will

disappear with time. I am also chelating with cilantro. Can give you the

receipe if

you want. That chelates all the metals...this is by a Chinese Dr that

discovered this. I'm 68 and still working....but at a desk and I don't get

enough

exercise. Anyway, I will send you the cilantro receipe when I get home from

work. This EDTA is in liquid form and is not expensive. I got the 3 bottles for

$129 which lasts for 2-3 months. I have done all Dr 's stuff and am about

to do it again. I love Dr !

Some neuropathies have dramatically improved within a few days by treating

the thyroid with Armour Thyroid and Iodoral. I know, it doesn't seem to make

sense-- who know's what the connection is. Iodine seems to make many nerve

systems work better.

Also, Vitamin B12 at high doses has been recommended by the Life Extension

Foundation. lef.org

Check back if these therapies help. Neuropathies can be hell.

I also got neuropathy from the chemo therapy, so I quit chemo. My google search

said that once you stop the chemo, the neuropathy generally resolves. On an

electronic testing device, there was no electrical pulse picked up in the 4

fingers -- just the thumbs. It's been two months post chemo and it is still

here. One person suggested an oz of liquid arginine daily and another carnitine

(I do both now). I am also taking IM B complex, and iodine drops. Sometimes my

hands are so cold they only warm up in hot water. Dr. Lark Lands has a piece

on neuropathy at her website www.larklands.net along with suggested supplements

to help restore nerve function. (my chemo agents were gemzar, carboplatin and

taxol)

Hello! I get neuropathy with my Fibromyalgia in the

hands, arms, legs, and feet. I only lasted a week on

Lyrica due to side effects and the gaining of 9 lbs.

Due to bilateral joint knee effusions and fluid on the

knee, it was imperative I not gain weight so I went

off it and lost the 9lbs. I take Cymbalta and it

seemed to help the neuropathy some. I still get it

but not every single day like I used to!

Thanks for the warning about Lyrica causing weight gain. Sure don't

need that. My rheum recently gave me Lyrica since Neurontin didn't

help my muscle spasms. Don't have neuropathy so don't know why he

gave me that. Have gained weight from being on Elavil so long.
