Guest guest
Hello All, I have not, as I promised to do last week, left the group yet. I've been sitting quietly on the sidelines, reading all of the posts, etc. Let me respond, first, to the topic of the week. Yes, my RSD has spread. What started in my right knee has spread to way too many places to count. I used to think that I couldn't burn anywhere else on my body, but I'm constantly amazed that I can! I have had blocks, as well. Lots of them. More, actually, than I can remember specifically. My first block was to dx the RSD, then I've had many other series. I can honestly say that the blocks DID NOT cause my RSD to spread. I am quite certain of that. I know what things have caused it to spread (dropping a 80 lb. Box of tiles on my foot; an auto accident that ruptured/herniated disc in my neck/back, etc). I've had a few surgeries since developing RSD and with exception of the last one, and with the assistance of my Drs, have not had that cause any spreading, as they were very careful and made sure that I had epidurals, etc. The last spinal fusion did cause some spreading. I've had other procedures as well (the IDET, for example) and did not have that cause any spreading. Maybe I've been lucky. I have, at almost all times (OK, OK, I always go right back to work after surgery... ) followed my Drs. Advise. One of the best things that I did was to quit smoking after 25 years. I do believe that has slowed the spreading of this monster. Now I need to lose weight and exercise more to help me with the fibro symptoms. My point in all this jabber is that we are not all the same. It would be easy if we were, they could treat us all the same and have the same effect, but that ain't the way it is. By the way, welcome to all of the new members. I am one of the founding members of this group (yup, I helped start it all) and have watched this family grow and thrive. I don't know that I can leave you all yet. As I just said, family.... To Tonia: GO FOR IT! Take the writing course, be a writer. It has always been my dream, but my " career " takes precedence. Gotta pay those bills, darnit. I will, someday, finish some of my writings, but until then, let me live in your new dream, OK???? More later when my hands are working again! Too much typing these days causes too much pain. Love you all! JoAnne

What did help was Commit. I got it from Costco (gotta watch the pennies, you know), and it is truly doing the trick. Difficult especially now that I am stressed to the max. But good for you, JoAnne. I was a member of several RSD groups years ago, and have recently fallen back into the RSD world. This Group is TERRIFIC !! Good people. Caring. Funny -- although I gotta wonder about that hide-and-seek when the players were moving around. NOPE. YOU CAN'T LEAVE ! ! ! ! To Tonia: GO FOR IT! Take the writing course, be a writer. I recall several members of various groups using them. Love you all! JoAnne I get a sense that love is sent right back to you, JoAnne. Gentle hugs from the Big Sis and (aka the Little Sis)
