It sounds as if your RA is not under good control. Analgesics and prednisone should not be used without DMARDs to treat active RA. If your rheumatologist is aware of how you are doing, but is not offering you effective treatment, getting a second opinion would be the thing to do. Not an MD > > Hi : This is I am having alot of hand troubles I started college on Oct 1 my hands swell and hurt I am in a typing class and an seriously worried I am going to fail because my thumbs hurt so bad I can't type.
