Also, can some tell me the full terms for these abreviations. I don't know what's wrong with me today, but I've had trouble searching for the information. Guest guest Posted March 18, 2002 Report Share Posted March 18, 2002 > Hi -I am going to try and explain it in easy terms-bear with me.. It is a laporoscopy and hysteroscopy. The laporoscopy is basically a tiny telescope/laser which is inserted around your belly button area with a 1 inch or less incision under anesthesia. It allows the doctors to see inside your uterus very clearly. The hysteroscopy is similiar but it is done vaginally. I had both done at the same time and I have found that that is pretty much standard though there are some who just do a hysteroscopy. They were fairly easy procedures(to endure and recover from). If the doctors find something that can be corrected they usually will do so with the same procedure. It is also done just for diagnostic purposes.
