A National Workshop- TOT in Stepping Stones Methodology

Greetings from CYDA (Centre For Youth Development Activities), Pune.

We are happy to share that we are holding a National ‘Stepping Stones’ TOT

(Training of Master Trainers) a Residential workshop in Hindi between 2nd and

11th August 2006 and would like to invite participants from your organization

for the same.

The Stepping Stones is a module originated in Buwenda village, Yuganda (South

Africa), has proved to be a highly effective tool in enabling communities to

address their own issues and actively seek solutions. Over the years it has been

widely used by various grassroots organizations all over the world along with

India and the Indian Adaptation for the same is also available the promotion of

which is been done by CYDA. So far over 100 organizations from different parts

of the country have participated in the workshops and many of them have

incorporated ‘Stepping Stones’ into their mainstay work

The workshop aims to equip the participants with communication skills,

relationship skills, HIV/ AIDS, Gender, Sexuality and Reproductive Health

Rights. It has been specifically adapted for social and cultural activists from

India and gives practical hands on experience as one has to undergo the workshop

as a participant, which helps to gain an insight of this process and its

applications in different social and cultural contexts.

This workshop would be highly interactive, with intense focus on each

participant. It is for this reason that we would like to restrict the number of

participants to 30 i.e. 2 (one Male And one Female) participants from each

organizations taking into account future training options in their respective

organizations.

This ten-day program cost just Rs. 5000. This is a ten-day in house training

program and the participants need to stay over night at the place of the

program. The fee includes food, accommodation, facilitation fee and course

materials. If an organization intends to take up this program as part of their

organizational activity needs to send a male and a female candidate or more for

the program. A programs in Hindi and Marathi was organized in 2005.

We will be organizing similar program in future too. Those organization require

master training for a team of 15 women and 15 male participants in English,

Hindi and Marathi, we have required facilitators to provide the training in any

states of India.
