Guest guest
don't be embarrassed it's very common . i can't have an orgasm w/o loosing control of my bladder THAT'S EMBARRASSING!! i've had this problem since my early 20's . i used to have to put a very thick towel under me folded over now i just don't let my husband take me to that point with an orgasm. as far as loosing control w/o sex yes i leak also but it's not real bad yet i believe it's called irritable bladder syndrome and yes it's common with fibro. mention it to your gyn there are meds out there for it if it is bothersome to you . gail > aloha everyone, > > there's a lot of talk about IBS here, but.... wondering if anyone has trouble with shi-shi. Admittedly, i do drink a LOT of water (at least 2 gallons/day) and i know this is surely what causes me to have to use the bathroom every hour (or more) - but... damn: when the urge hits, it hits with avengeance and sometimes i just can barely hold it in (and some of it i can't hold in....) > > i looked it up in FMS sites and in some sites it does list bladder problems as another symptom of FMS (but from what i gather, it's refering to urinary tract problems - which i don't have)(atleast i don't think so?) > > ....just wondering if i'm the only one around here with this problem? > > **Yes: i do the exercises - and perhaps if i didn't do the exercises, i'd be wearing DEPENDS rather than just panty liners** > > arg.... Guest guest
I have the same problem and it’s only getting worse, so I know I need to go in and talk about surgery or meds. Mine started after the birth of my oldest, but he was a c-section baby, so it shouldn’t have been that. To prove that it wasn’t (I guess) I did this magnetic chair treatment series. You sit in this chair and these magnets force your pelvic floor muscles to contract for several minutes, doing the work for you that those exercises are supposed to do. The doc said will fail only a very small percentage of women. It failed. I assume that means it’s not a pelvic muscle problem. This all coincides with many of my initial symptoms during and after my first pregnancy 10 years ago and I seem to have had a progression since then. But this last year was the worst for symptoms and wouldn’t you know, for my bladder too. I am WAY too young for this crap, in my opinion. I’ve been putting off going to a doc as we didn’t have insurance for so long, I’d have to pay for a sitter, and I just don’t WANT to deal with it. But I really need to. I was just thinking today that I need to schedule an appointment for that and my pap smear since I haven’t had one for years.
Guest guest
, you know that commercial on TV where the woman is going "Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go - right now!!" (it's a commercial for some sort of med that helps control bladder function - the name of the med keeps slipping my mind) -- i'm wondering if this would help us? if u know what i'm talking about, have you tried this med? (or any med for that matter)? -jaana Re: embarrassing topic I have the same problem and it’s only getting worse, so I know I need to go in and talk about surgery or meds. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better.Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
I've seen that commercial----it's Detrol LA! But the possible side effects they list sound like they'd worsen fibro symptoms....headache, backache, diarrhea, abdominal pain... cyn At 11:55 AM 2/25/2005 -1000, Jaana Mäkipää wrote: , you know that commercial on TV where the woman is going " Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go - right now!! Guest guest
I have a LOT of trouble getting started. Sometimes I'll sit there for over an hour (at night) and try to go, sometimes even falling asleep. One thing I noticed, though, was that in the several months during which I hadn't had a period I didn't have any trouble at all. Then I started having trouble going, and a few days later got my period. I'm still having trouble getting started; I guess I'll know if I'll have another period by whether or not I can pee! cyn At 03:33 PM 2/26/2005 -0500, Krag52@... wrote: Hi Jaana, I have this problem too. Sometimes I barely make it to the bathroom. We have stairs up to the house which can be hell when you have to go that bad. Also sometimes I have trouble getting started. I feel like I have to go but the only way I can get things started is to start coughing really hard. Man, is there no part of our bodies that doesn't have some type of problem!
