Guest guest
I cannot believe it.....I went to my first weight watchers meeting and lost 7 lbs. in 9 days!!!! I am so hiped! Of course, I came home and mom asked me how much I had lost. When I told her she goes "Well, you won't lose that much all the time." I know it's the truth, but a little encouragement would of been nice! Oh well. I'm still hyped!!! Sharon

Even if all you lost was 7lbs of water, that is STILL a big accomplishment...you could have GAINED 7lbs in that same 9 days. Focus on the positive mental and behavorial changes that you managed to change in the past 9 days. Those are invaluable and cannot be measured by a scale. Congrats. Guest guest
WooHoo for Sharon!!! I am so excited for you!! I *knew* you would do great!! Mom might not know how to pump you up but we sure will!! I'm 36 and when I lost 5.5 pounds the first week she said the same thing - it's just water. Oh well, I told her - at least it's 5.5 pounds of *less* water!! When my parents came last weekend she looked at me and told me how noticeable it was that I've lost so many inches. That was nice to hear. Keep up the great work Sharon!! ~~ Re: First WW meeting!! I cannot believe it.....I went to my first weight watchers meeting and lost 7 lbs. in 9 days!!!! I am so hiped! Guest guest
Ahhhh! That would make me so mad. I think you did fantastic and no matter if you won't lose that much all the time or not, it is always hard work and you had to do some serious changes to be able to get such a great reward. I think you deserve a high five: *****! :~) Keep it up, we are so proud of your hard work. Re: First WW meeting!! Guest guest
Sharon, Good for you - way to go! I know that sometimes people are not encouraging (even when they mean to be). That's why this group is great - we're all in this together and understand! Guest guest
Hi Sharon, 7 pounds is fantastic!!! Just come here when you need encouragement, we will give it to you Maureen > > I cannot believe it.....I went to my first weight watchers meeting and lost 7 lbs. in 9 days!!!! I am so hiped! Guest guest
I'm sure she didn't intend to sound mean. She probably just didn't want you to be disappointed if you don't lose as much next week. I'm a WW Online member, so I weigh myself and log it in on the website. My last weigh-in, I got the same type of message - computer generated. " Congratulations on finishing your third week on Weight Watchers Winning Points program. Your weight loss average has averaged more than 2 pounds per week, which is normal for the first three weeks of any weight loss program. Don't be disappointed if your weight loss slows down after this week. " Wouldn't it be nice if Moms/husbands/friends could find a nicer way to say these things? Way to go Sharon! Guest guest
Johanna, Thanks! But I was so hyped this morning and then went to a fish fry and ate like a pig! Now I'm disgusted with myself! I'll just have to start over tomorrow. Sharon Sharon,Shame on your mom for not saying something more positive. I'm 38 and instead of 5 small children like you have, I have 4 children and 3 grandchildren! Let's just say I started young! Sharon Re: First WW meeting!! Guest guest
I actually told her that a little encouragement would of been nice and she goes "oh, well I think it's great. I just didn't want you to think it would happen all the time." My daughter told me today after finding out i lost some weight that she wanted to start my diet. She is quite abit larger than I am so I hope we can both stick with it. She said that she wants to start on Monday. SharonAhhhh! That would make me so mad. Guest guest
Wouldn't it be nice if Moms/husbands/friends could find a nicer way to say these things? Even the woman who weighed me in at the meeting this morning warned me that this wouldn't be typical. I already knew this, but could see where next week it could be discouraging. Either way, its not the kind of " food behavior " that I have been working so hard on. Guess it just shows us that EVERY day is a day to start fresh.
