Guest guest
I took my second dose of methotrexate this past Friday (five pills). I'm trying to figure out if how I'm feeling is within the norm and if it's the mtx or nsaids or what. Last week I started with 4 pills, next week I go to 6 and then we'll see if I need to go higher according to my rheumy. Last week, I felt a little queasy on Saturday afternoon/evening and very tired on Sunday (and I didn't think it was possible to be more fatigued! LOL). But it wasn't bad at all. This week though I was *very* queasy on Saturday night, slept for 17 hours on Sunday and woke up this morning still queasy. That symptom seems to kind of come and go all day. What's the consensus...is it the MTX or am I starting to feel the effects of the nsaids? (I am on Meloxicam and folic acid in addition to other meds for other conditions). Thanks! Guest guest
Thanks PM, How long have you been on it? What's your dose? How many days each week does the queasiness last for you? > > > > I took my second dose of methotrexate this past Friday (five pills). > > I'm trying to figure out if how I'm feeling is within the norm and if > > it's the mtx or nsaids or what. > > > > Last week I started with 4 pills, next week I go to 6 and then we'll > > see if I need to go higher according to my rheumy. > > > > Last week, I felt a little queasy on Saturday afternoon/evening and > > very tired on Sunday (and I didn't think it was possible to be more > > fatigued! Guest guest
I have been on MTX for about two years and the only side effect is that I am a little more tired the next day. I have had RA since 2000 and am also on Remicaid but have taken MTX with Enbrel and other meds with the same side of effect of just being a little more tired the next day. Hope this helps. Guest guest
i couldnt help but notice this message. i have been on MTX for at least 5 years , i am currently taking 6 pills , i find that not eating anything for at least 1 hour after taking my pills helps i take all 6 at once weekly , i also found that taking generic tums about 30 minutes later also helps , i have never noticed any problem with tiredness, but i do know that if your RA is not really under control that tiredness is a side effect no matter what drugs you are taking to control it . in fact i take 3 pills and then take the second 3 several hours later and i find my stomach is much less upset . my RA doctor said this is ok too just call me Sheba <queen_o_sheba@...> wrote: Thanks PM, How long have you been on it?
