Guest guest
I have never been told to take fish oil supplements, but I have been told to take flax oil capsules. It's supposed to help with the dry eye syndrome, which both my Rheumatologist and eye doctor have advised is common among individuals with RA. I can no longer wear contact lenses, and would be curious to know if any of you have had this problem. Guest guest
I thought I would mention this about fish oil. I was unable to walk very much and a friend of mine told me to try fish oil. I did and within 10 days I could walk without a lot of pain. Fish oil has done a lot for me. I take it twice a day. I know some people have probelms with it but I am okay. I also took the extra to lower my cholesterol. For me it has done more than anything else I have taken. I also eat a lot of fish. I have talked to me Rheumy about this fish oil thing. He just says take it, it is helping. --------- Re: [ ] anyone use fish oil My cardiologist, my cognitive behavioral doctor and my rheumatologist all advised taking fish oil supplements. --- Bargainhunter V <bargainhunter57> wrote: > for adults for reducing ra > --- stephanie <stephieann2> wrote: > > > Hi Jean! > > I've had one since I was 30 due to my limitations > > with > > Fibromyalgia and now also RA. Guest guest
Hey, I had already started fish oil supplements to lower my choloestrol but when I mentioned it to my rheumy, he told me that in SOME people with RA, it can actually help with inflammation, which helps with pain. He told me to take 3x times the amount that the bottle states and although it makes me go to the bathroom, I haven't had any problems taking that much fish oil like a lot of people talk about - like burping, etc. Now, I haven't been on it at the higher dosage for long enough to tell if it helps, but it can't hurt to try. Please don't increase the amount you take without talking to your doctor though. It can thin your blood, etc. - just with me, my doctor instructed me to increase the dosage. Good luck! lindacaimi@... wrote: I thought I would mention this about fish oil. I was unable to walk very much and a friend of mine told me to try fish oil. Guest guest
HI , Read about fish oil being good to lower cholesterol but never thought about it again till now. Since my liver enzymes are too high, I had to stop my Zocor and Lodine. We have been taking one 1000mg geltab each day but maybe start taking two. Guest guest
I tried to take fish oil but had to stop, I couldn't stand the burps it caused. It was the most foul taste I can think of other than a 'fruit' from Thailand. I couldn't hold out long enough to see if it would have helped. I guess I'm a wimp...
