Guest guest
Hi Bonnie My dr. gave me 50 mg of pregnelonone and I couldn't handle it. I felt very weird, and did not like the feeling. I tried splitting the capsules in half but I still did not like the feeling, so I stopped. I am very low, so I plan on trying again in the near future. conny

Guest guest
I have had problems with Pregnenolone recently as well. My DHEA is low, but I didn't like the side effects of taking DHEA (15 mg daily via a spray under the tongue). So my doctor wanted me to try Pregnenolone (50 mg, compounded). While I haven't had the overt side effects from it that I did with DHEA (bull in a china shop feeling, spotting, weird periods, increased PMS), I have still had problems. Like you, Conny, I don't feel right, almost jittery but nothing fixes it. My temperatures are unstable (back down in the 96 range as opposed to the 97 range I had worked up to), spotting sometimes, very tired. I tried taking it every other day. It was only this week, in fact, that I correlated my feeling bad with the Pregnenolone. Since stopping the Pregnenolone on Tuesday, my temps have been stable, back up in the 97 range. Also, I have more energy in the evening instead of being brain dead, which surprised me. I have been fighting exhaustion every night for the past month (the duration of the time I have been taking the Pregnenolone). I was bummed that all of a sudden I was that tired every night. I was quite surprised to see a difference the past several nights. Oh yes, I was having sleep issues again as well, which now seem to be righting themselves out. I know my doctor seems concerned about my low DHEA (am on 2-3/4 + 1/8 grain Armour and 35 mg Cortef)...but if this stuff makes me feel bad (and it seems to be stressing my adrenals)...I can't hardly make myself take it. My estrogen and progesterone levels showed as being okay. I guess if I don't supplement the DHEA...ultimately those levels might be messed up? I had tried taking just 5 mg of the DHEA a day previously...which seemed better. So I will likely either try that (since I have a supply of the spray) or the 7-Keto DHEA). Guest guest
Strange. I just went on pregnenolone and its making me feel a little better, but then canaryclub.org recommended it. Guest guest
Blood tests for Pregnenolone, DHEA, DHEAS and Progesterone have consistently been low for me. I don't do well with Progesterone (makes me feel really ill) and DHEA (causes cystic acne & facial hair) so I tried Preg and it has caused no issues for me. I started with a very low dose (1mg, 3mg, 5mg, 10mg, 30mg) and gradually built up to 50mg Pregnenolone for several months now, and it has helped me, especially with short term memory. I would consider eliminating the 7-Keto DHEA and just take the Pregnenolone alone for a couple of days (or vice versa), to see if there's a difference that would point to which of the supplements is actually causing your symptoms. You might also consider lowering the dose.
